| The Paradise of Free-Climbing | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

The
seashore of Sperlonga is one of the most popular and loved areas for
the Italian free-climbers. The "non plus ultra" of the area is
represented by the romantic "spiaggia dell'Arenauta", where the wall
had been nailed by Pino Galli majorly, and also by Antonello Pala and
Stefano Finocchi. The Cave is one of the most impressive places of
Italy. The "Muro Bianco" (White Wall) is a very quiet place and it has
a nice panoramic view. Other climbing walls are Monte Moneta, Pueblo
and Leano but the authority banded the place, once really popular, for
its danger; for this the place is in bad shape and it is not nailed
properly anymore. Sperlonga has been through a restyling in the last
years anyway it didn't change the number of adeguated climbing-
itinerary.
Sperlonga Prominence From 'Sperlonga Classica' wall there are two protrusion, the right and the left one. These two were recently renewed and set up for climbing. You can park your car by 'Guido IL Mozzarellaro' and by the gallery you'll find a path that brings you right to the wall in about ten minutes. Here the free-climbers can enjoy interesting medium range itineraries.
L'Arenauta It is the most beautiful recent discovery (in the area of) (as a) sport resource in Italy. Pino Galli gifted us of the only cliff in Italy that you can climb-on been practically bare feet on the beach from a height of sea level to 10 meters max. Beside it there is also a cave you can visit by the stairway. Antonello Pala, Stefano Finocchi and Sebastiano Labozzetta created fascinating itineraries that run through spectacular stalactites. It is a very nice place and the only inconvenient that you can run through is the heat in summer time. To reach the place you have to follow the street towards Gaeta then you will see the sign 'ultima spiaggia' where you park your car. Once you get out your car you follow the stairway that brings you down the beach. Then you'll find the hidden treasure.
